    Design Research: Translates business requirements into hypothesis, which is explored with users to uncover emotional connections which develop into actionable insights that drive both strategic and tactical decision-making.

    The discipline specializes in discovering, analyzing, and socializing all of the factors that go into identifying a target set of users, their problems, and the potential solutions to those problems. They translate business requirements into research goals, and conduct research using qualitative and quantitative methods to develop actionable insights that drive both strategic and tactical decision-making.

    Artifacts are delivered on a continuous basis to improve the quality of the design and product strategy throughout the entire life-cycle. Various research methods can be used to deliver on the goals within various delivery processes, the ability to express the principles of and make the business case for any one research method over another is essential.

    Findings are communicated into actionable artifacts such as user personas, empathy maps, scenarios and journeys, mental models, market analysis, and much more. Note: it is not a goal to use one particular tool, but the appropriate tool is used to help the team take action.

    Brief Description:

    Qualifications:

    · Five to ten (5-10) years of experience working as an Interaction Designer, UX Designer (or similar role) creating innovative user interfaces and interactions for complex applications, web applications, and/or mobile applications.

    · Experience with creating mockups, design patterns and interaction design

    · Knowledge of usability methodologies, testing and demo tools and technologies

    For this position, we are looking for people with strong skills in qualitative methods such as contextual inquiry, usability testing, card sorting, and diary studies.

    Axial Exchange is looking for a graphic designer with experience in user experience and UI design for a full time position. 

    At Axial we are changing healthcare by building tools for supporting the complexity of treatment today.   We build dashboards and communication tools designed for use by healthcare professionals and apps designed to help patients take better care of themselves.  

    As graphic designer you would be expected to design the functionality of our products but also have the visual chops to for UI design, mockups and sales and marketing materials .  You will report to the VP of Engineering and the CEO and will play an instrumental role in the success of the company and its products.  

    Your skills will shape the visual identity of the company and define the tone that we present ourselves from.  As our startup evolves you will provide the graphics used in our presentations, websites and collateral.

    You will be expected to document user task flows, UI specifications, to communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to stakeholders.

    You will work with our CEO and our VP of engineering to incorporate the our strategy into experiences and build a visual identity into features. You will also be  responsible for maintaining wireframes, mockups, and specifications and delivering the assets used by our engineers in apps and web apps. 

    We are looking for:

          an entrepreneurial streak

          experience on an app or two, a dashboard would be nice too

          Skills doing wireframes in omnigraffle or similar tools

          familiarity with how to produce production graphics for the web

          Comfort doing sweet mockups in sketch or photoshop
