    Guilford College invites applications for a visiting lecturer in Experience Design to begin Fall 2016 with the possibility of continuing in Spring 2017. The incoming lecturer will teach a survey course, XD220 – Experience Design. This course supports Guilford’s launch of a new minor in Experience Design. Because the XD minor is new, this position may include additional compensated opportunities to help shape and grow the program and to contribute to innovations within supporting departments. The course will meet weekly on campus Wednesdays 6:00-8:00pm.

    Guilford College’s teaching environment balances strong technical skills with conceptual depth. We place great importance on innovative and excellent teaching. A graduate degree in experience design or related field such as human factors, user experience design, human-computer interaction is preferred. We will consider candidates with a combination of education and professional experience. Applicants with evidence of successful teaching are especially desirable.

    Guilford’s Experience Design program has been created through a collaboration between the departments of Art, Computer Technology and Information Systems, Theater Studies, Business and Psychology. We are especially focused on a XD minor and eventually a major, that draws heavily on Guilford’s strengths as a liberal arts institution. Hence, we seek a colleague who is well qualified in experience design, but not narrowly focused.

    The Experience Design committee believes that the best possible education happens in a heterogeneous setting of mutual support and respect.     Responsibilities


    Bronto is looking for a passionate Senior UX Designer to join the UX Design team. The ideal candidate will identify more as an Interaction Designer who has a strong sense for interaction design, information architecture, user research, and user testing. Bronto’s award-winning marketing automation software is renowned for its power and ease of use, and as a member of our design team, you will help deliver the next generation of our products.

    Create elegant design artifacts that are user-focused, backed by research, and consider business and technical requirements.

    Conduct and analyze user research tests and report findings to teams.

    Collaborate with UX team members on defining and maintaining design standards and a shared vision for consistency across the platform.

    Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to better understand business and customer goals, as well as technical requirements.

    Participate in developing design culture through critique, show & tells, presentations, and workshops. 


    Qualifications

    5+ years experience designing web apps/UI

    Strong portfolio showcasing examples of related design work.

    Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects.

    Ability to effectively communicate design decisions.

    Experience with one or more of the following design tools: Sketch, InVision, Adobe Photoshop, Axure, Omnigraffle.

    Understanding of HTML/CSS a plus.

    Sense of humor a must, ping-pong skills a plus, skateboarding/scooter skills optional.

    You will work with other designers and developers to brainstorm exceptional user flows and define page components and interactions.

Finally, you will shepherd your solutions through the development process by being an active resource for our agile development teams.
